    Comprehensive risk assessment focusing on the planning, design, engineering and construct-ability of the project is critical to success. Pre-construction Services include pre-construction surveys, drawing and contract specifications, scope of work, site specific Loss Control Safety Program to include owner, contractors and/or governmental agency, site logistics, sub-contractor pre-qualification, insurance and risk management, process and procedure and risk control budgeting. This process include some activities more fully described below.

  • Sub-Contractor Pre-qualification Activity

    Project success depends on having well qualified contractors. The system for pre-qualifying bidders should include experience, ability, past performance, integrity, financial status, and contractor's insurance, safety and loss control program experience; including data points such as illness/injury rate, workers' compensation experience modification rate and/or OSHA/EPA Inspection history.

  • Site Specific Loss Control Safety Programs

  • Site Logistics

    The fundamental goals of construction logistics is the management of supply and site logistics using a systems approach to produce customer satisfaction and continuous process improvements including but not limited to personnel, material flow, schedule adherence, contractor’s organization, and information flow.

  • Pre-Bid Safety Specifications & Meetings

    Meeting held with pre-qualified sub-contractor candidates to anwser questions on contract bid specifications as they relate to safety and loss control requirements. Communication of expectations as a practical means to meet project plans and specifications and to prevent project disruption, delay and/or dispute.

  • Project Start-up Activity

    Project Start-up checklist, project signage and implementation of other site specific safety loss control requirements before construction personnel begin operations.

  • Pre-Construction Meetings

    Team introductions, review of site specific safety & loss control programs and site logistics plan, training & competency requirements,  evacuations & other emergencies, risk control inspections & audits, incident investigations, broker and insurance carrier interactions, document submission expectations and other special situations.

  • Contractor Safety Meetings

    Routine meetings to discuss progress of construction and implementation of site specific safety & loss control programming. Site orientation, safety and competency training status, inspection and audit results, distribution of safety talks for advancement of project phasing, newly scheduled pre-construction meetings, quality issues, documentation discrepancies, injury and incident investigations and public relations.

  • Inspections & Audits

    Effective inspections facilitate the elimination and control of the unsafe acts of human beings and the unsafe or unsound physical conditions , processes, practices and/or materials. Audits allow the effectiveness of the management system to be evaluated, tested, inherent risks to be identified/controlled worker interest and involvement to be continuously sustained.

  • Incident Investigations

    Incident investigations enable management to find root causes and to allow corrective action to take place preventing future incidents.
